Cookie Policy

Version 2.0.0

Effective January 1st, 2026

1. About this Policy

1.1 Scribo Limited (“Scribo”, “we”, “our” or “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies. This Cookie Policy explains what they are, which we use, why we use them, and the choices available to you.

1.2 This Policy forms part of, and should be read with, our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. Where a cookie collects information about you which amounts to personal data, our Privacy Policy governs how we handle it.

1.3 This Policy applies to three separate surfaces, which behave differently:

(a) www.scribo.com.hk, our public website. It uses cookies set by the platform on which the site is built, together with any analytics we operate.
(b) clinic.scribo.com.hk, the Scribo® Clinic application.
(c) pharm.scribo.com.hk, the Scribo® Pharmacy application.

The applications at (b) and (c) use the cookies necessary to sign you in and to operate the application.

1.4 Cookies in the applications are necessary to authenticate you and keep your session secure, and the applications cannot be used without them. Cookies on the public website are, for the most part, not necessary and can be declined without preventing you from using the site.

2. What cookies are

2.1 A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit. It allows the site to recognise your device on a later visit, to remember your preferences, and to understand how the site is used.

2.2 This Policy also covers technologies which work in a similar way, including local storage, session storage, pixels and software development kits. Where this Policy refers to cookies, it includes those technologies.

2.3 A first-party cookie is set by the site you are visiting. A third-party cookie is set by another domain, for example the provider of a service embedded in a page. Both are used on our website.

2.4 A session cookie is deleted when you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains on your device until it expires or you delete it.

3. Whether cookies collect personal data

3.1 A cookie which contains a unique identifier, or which records how you use our website, may amount to personal data under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486), particularly where it can be linked to an account you hold with us.

3.2 Where cookie information is personal data, we handle it in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which describes what we collect, what we use it for, how long we keep it and the rights available to you.

4. The categories of cookies we use

4.1 Strictly necessary cookies: These are required for our website and our applications to work. They allow you to move around, to reach secure areas, to sign in, and to keep your session secure while you are signed in. They include cookies set by the platform on which our website is built and by the services which deliver and protect it. Without these cookies the services you have asked for cannot be provided, and they cannot be turned off through our services.

4.2 Performance cookies: These allow us to recognise and count visitors, and to see how visitors move around our website. They help us understand which pages are found useful and how the site can be improved. Information collected by these cookies is used to understand patterns of use across visitors as a whole. We do not use any separate analytics service, such as Google Analytics. The only performance information we collect is that provided by the analytics built into the Wix platform on which our website is built.

4.3 Functionality cookies: These allow our website and our applications to remember the choices you make, such as your language, your region, or display preferences, so that we can offer you a more personalised experience. They may also be used to provide a feature you have specifically asked for.

4.4 Advertising cookies: We do not use advertising cookies. Section 5 explains.

4.5 Cookies set by others: Some of the cookies in the categories above are set by third parties rather than by us, including the platform on which our website is built and the providers of services embedded in our pages. Those third parties set and use their cookies in accordance with their own policies, which we do not control.

4.6 If you would like to know which specific cookies are set when you visit, you may ask us using the details in Section 10, and you may also inspect them yourself at any time through your browser’s settings.

5. Advertising cookies

5.1 We do not use advertising cookies. We do not permit advertising networks to place cookies through our website, and we do not share information about your use of our website with advertisers.

5.2 We do not use cookies to build a profile of your interests, and we do not use information collected through cookies to direct marketing at you. Where we send you marketing, we do so in accordance with Section 8 of our Privacy Policy.

6. Your choices

6.1 Most browsers accept cookies automatically and allow you to block them, delete them, or be warned before one is set. The controls are found in your browser’s settings, usually under privacy or security. If you use more than one device or browser, each must be set separately.

6.2 Declining cookies on our public website will not prevent you from using it. Declining the cookies listed as strictly necessary in the applications will prevent you from signing in, because those cookies are how a signed-in session is maintained.

6.3 Cookies already on your device can be deleted through your browser at any time. Deleting them does not prevent new ones being set on your next visit; to prevent that, change your browser settings.

7. Consent

7.1 By accessing and continuing to use our website or the applications on any device, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this Policy. We do not display a cookie consent banner.

7.2 If you do not wish to accept cookies, you may block or delete them through your browser at any time, as described in Section 6. You do not need to contact us in order to do so. A change to your browser settings takes effect immediately, and must be made separately on each browser and device you use.

7.3 The cookies identified as strictly necessary in Section 4 are required in order to sign in to and operate the Scribo® Clinic and Scribo® Pharmacy applications. If you block them, you will not be able to use those applications.

8. Do Not Track

8.1 Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal, or a similar signal, indicating that you do not wish your activity to be tracked. We honour those signals. Where one is received, we do not use performance cookies to record your use of our website.

9. Changes to this Policy

9.1 We may amend this Policy. We will publish the amended version with its version number and effective date, and where an amendment is material we will give at least thirty (30) days’ notice.
